Brain Drain
I feel as if I'm learning all over again. This entire week I have had the strangest headaches. Monday I experienced 10 seconds of pain that felt like a tsunami in my head - every time I stood up. Tuesday that subsided a bit, but I started feeling pain in my head whenever I turned it or moved my eyes too fast. Wednesday the same pain and at night I was weak and had a fever of 99. Thursday morning was just fine and I realized that Tylenol at 9am kept my head pain-free until 5pm (up until then I had been taking Allegra thinking it was allergy issues). Today I'm keeping the Tylenol going .. woke up with pain and it lasted til the pill kicked in. I always bug my mom about how Tylenol is her mithai (sweets) and that she can't go a day without it, and now I'm hoping I don't turn into her!
I feel fine otherwise and it's not allergies so I can't find a reason. What makes the most sense is that my brain is just strained. My mom has these symptoms after a long day of woking where her head gets really hot - same thing happened to me and at times I had to clutch my head to make it stop spinning. The top of it felt like fire. I'm thinking this is because I haven't been in the real corporate world for almost 2 years now. I've been on my own schedule and haven't had too much stress (most days). But now I have to get up at 5:30am - get to work by 8am - get home by 7pm - sleep by 11pm. Way too much for someone who would get up between 7 and 10am and work on her own schedule.
So I'm hoping my brain catches up and gets used to this SOON. I can't afford this tylenol dependency and pain every time I have to turn around. Hubby says I have to keep working hard or else my brain will degenerate and I'll become a retard. How sweet you are =) haha. But it's true .. if this is happening after not being at a job for 2 years - i can't imagine what it will be like if I decide to stay at home with the kids for a few years and then go back to work!
Here's hoping my brain gets smarter =)

Are you pregnant? I had the most massive migraine headaches during the first few months, and BEFORE the test came back positive. (headaches start early, along with cravings) Stick to the Tylenol until you know for sure. The powerful meds like Motrin and Excedrin are unsafe for pregnant women.
Also, if you start craving particular foods, get a pregnancy test stat. With my first I craved steak, with the twins I craved, of all things, Bhindi with chappati rotis! All bhindi all the time. I don't know how to make my own rotis but i was lucky enough to live close to a desi store where they sell pre-made ones. they are lifesavers!
that's it, I'm cooking bhindi tomorrow.
ennis~ good, keep yourself young =)
kavi ~ shut yo' mouth.
chic mommy ~ not pregnant!! don't say such things .. haha. Luckily the headaches went away this week so your words can not consume me =)and what's with this bhindi cooking - anything you want to share? =)
oh no!, thank goodness I'm not pregs, and have no intention to be ever again. It's just that all that talk of bhindi got me hungry. I love bhindi as it is, but for some reason I craved it with twins.
Also wanted to share an old wives tale with you. Women who eat ALOT of Daal, (any kind, maash, kali, masoor) have a higher chance of conceiving twins than other women. I believe it because the time I got pregs with twins, I was cooking lots of daal nearly every night. It's high in folic acid too, so if it's already part of your diet you don't need to take a prenatal vitamin for it.
I got all excited that you may be preggers!
